THE SOUTHSIDE CONTRACTS CASE
Garry Gowan from South-side contracts Ltd, contracted me to execute a strange job for him.
But, as I am working to make a living, I did comply with his strange demands.
He wanted me to do a simple paint-over of his one-bedroom flat AT 21 Union street, Largs.
His verbal instructions were not to mind the pieces of paint and wallpaper on the surface: a quick sand-over would do.
But if you look at the amount of wallpaper on the bedroom ceiling you really wonder if he'd really like you to paint
right over that. So I did remove some wallpaper from the ceiling, and I had to do some serious sealing and filling, too.

When the job was done, Garry Gowan claimed that the work was so bad that he had to hire others to correct it,
and he refused to pay a single penny for the job.
Southside contracts as well as director Gary Gowan were billed and notified of legal action repeatedly, but no payment
was received.
After I checked their company accounts I saw that they were overdue and that they had but £97,00 in their account
when they last submitted accounts. Now I really wondered if a company with just £97,00 in the bank should order works that could total over one thousand pounds???
